Funke Adegunwa created BAM Foundation in • 2010, and in 2012
her husband Deji joined her to reflect their family's commitment to giving back. Over the years, they have used their investment capital, networks and experience in pursuit of a singular mission - to invest in people (especially Youths and Women), and ideas that can change the world.
Entrepreneurial approaches can make efforts to address social challenges faster, smarter, and more impactful. We work and collaborate with other risk-takers and accelerate innovative approaches to social change.
To be Innovative means to take risks in order to discover new ideas and approaches in a rapidly changing world. We believe in trying and testing assumptions about what works, sharing the results of those tests and building a culture of courage that are key to solving problems.
Collaborating across sectors enhances expertise and promotes solutions on which we can build. We explore a wide range of issues, and ideas to address chronic challenges. We share our expertise and experience openly - successes and failures alike - to accelerate collective learning and progress.
Working smart means acting with urgency, being open to change and embracing failure as the greatest learning moment. We insist on having fun by bringing passion and joy to our work. We remain ever humble, knowing greatness comes from the combination of many people's efforts.
BAM Foundation team has a diverse range of backgrounds and skill sets, but we share a common passion for changing the world beginning from our own sphere of influence. We work hard to accomplish our mission - but we insist on having fun while doing it!

Deji Adegunwa is the dynamic husband of Funke Adegunwa. He decided to take the highest risk any young man can take at the early age of seventeen by running away from his mum who was a widow; to join the Nigerian Navy during the Biafra war. This risk changed the entire cause of his life from someone destined to be ordinary (as a result of loosing his father at a young age of ten) to someone extraordinary. He served in Nigerian navy, British navy, US Merchant Marine and the United States Navy before taking an early retirement in 2010. In between his years of military service, he discharged honourably and worked for Leventis Technical as a manager, Dale Electric of Great Britain as country representative for Nigeria, UAC Nigeria as Technical manager before he eventually set up his own power generating company; Power Products. He has brought his years of military and business experience and expertise as a technocrat, to work alongside his wife in touching lives and impacting society positively. There's nothing more delightful to him now, more than impacting the lives.Branding, Web Development

We believe the world needs more fearless approaches to social change, so we take risks on new ideas and approaches, and partner across sectors with people (especially youths) and organizations that share our fervor to engage citizens and change the world for the better, today. We don’t limit ourselves to any one sector or issue, but instead let a set of core values drive all of our ventures.Bam Foundation
